Christ yeah, Keane was a favourite of mine when he was at Forest - amazing legs and proper shorts,  Tongue

Love the story about Clough punching him in the dressing room too, LOL

In other news, I've been reading about this proposed European Premier League that the usual suspects are behind. I have my doubts that it will happen, FIFA backing or not, but there's clearly moves afoot to create some kind of closed shop for an elite few European teams - automatic entry into the Champions League is probably their endgame.

If it happens, I could actually see myself losing interest in Chelsea (doubtless we're involved  Rolleyes ) - I just have no desire to watch endless games against "glamour" European sides every week. Playing Barca, Real, Bayern or Juventus should be a special occasion & it'll lose the lustre if it's guaranteed to happen twice a season.

Seems sometimes the game is becoming geared towards the FIFA generation (the video game not the corrupt football administrative body). It seems that more and more younger fans online support individual players rather than teams & just want to see the most skilful "ballers" doing their tricks every week. Kids eh?  Undecided

Anything to justify more money in the hands of the few.

I want more support for other leagues and grassroots, without the need to enrich already rich clubs, the whole PBP was just a pyramid scheme. If something doesn't happen soon expect some bigger non PL clubs to go under this season. I think a European PL would be a disaster for English football, it entrenches the bigger teams' financial positions and just adds another barrier for teams not already earning big money to break through.

And oi, Ollie2UK, don't tar us all with the same brush. I play Football Manager not FIFA and if I want to strip my favourite Matty, tie him up and fuck him senseless between matches, don't think that makes me any less loyal to my team... even if he isn't wearing red any more.

Football Manager players are much more sensible than those FIFA types, Wink

As for tying Matty Cash up, that sounds eminently reasonable to me too,

Ok, time to set the cat amongst the pigeons - I'm a Millwall supporter. Have been since I was about 5 and my dad used to take me. Became a season ticket holder for many years but now only go to a few matches each season. Everyone is always surprised that I can be a diehard Millwall fan and gay, but I fell in love with football long before I realised that 22 men in shorts was quite nice as well.

We've had a few good seasons recently and saw them play on the TV this week and was impressed, not up to Premier league standing, so promotion would be a disaster, but good enough to hold their own in the Championship.

Now can I have a rant about shorts - why do modern footballers think they look good in huge voluminous shorts that reach their socks (one notable exception Mr Grealish) I'm sure its not just the gay in me that thinks they look stupid, I'm sure many others would agree they look daft and do nothing to promote their sporting looks.

I'm gonna show my age now, but when I was at uni in the early 90s me & my mate decided to go see a football match one evening & the only game on was at Millwall. This was their first season at the New Den, so I think '93 or '94. We got to the tube station about 5 mins before kick off & asked a copper in the station the way. We then legged it down the road & hit a subway - not something you wanted to come across with Millwall in the 80s & 90s  LOL

Anyway, we pegged it through that, got to the ground & found out they were charging 20-odd quid for a Championship game (in the 90s FFS!)! We spent the first half stood on a verge half way up with a view of about a third of the pitch between the stands then gave up & went to the pub,

As for the shorts - fuck YES! Spuds shorts last night were ridiculous - looked like they were wearing pantaloons! On the plus side, I've noticed Man City have gone more tapered this season, so fingers crossed it'll start trend,

Look mate, if we want to start a trend then obviously we want them playing naked right? Particularly useful for those Man City games when they start playing boring football and you want a distraction.

On a positive Forest are going to wreck Derby County tonight, so I'm in a good mood.

1-1 counts as "wrecking" Derby County right? Sad Confused
