After 37 years the show is coming to an end.

I'm going to miss watching the show.

How many guys on here, over the years have found memories of the show.
Like during your teenage years, watching and hoping for some of the guys being topless.

Guy Pearce in his speedos still drives me wild. No idea who’s in it now.

Everything has a shelf life. Best to go now before it becomes tawdry like some other soaps I could mention.

Of course, everyone forgets the fact this was originally a Seven Network show. Because the network was based in Sydney, and the show set and filmed in Melbourne, it faced hostility from the management.

So when viewing figures were not up to scratch in Sydney, they decided to cancel it. The Production team had other ideas, however, and sold it to the Ten network - making it probably the only soap to have switched channels.

So when it relaunched in January 1986 (October in the UK), that’s when we caught up with the likes of Kylie and Jason, etc. most of the cast remained the same, but the Seven managers decided to burn the sets as an act of revenge…

Maybe the fact that it's ending production means that the US can get to see it somehow. I'd be interested.

If Australians couldn't muster up the energy to watch Neighbours a show about Australians then I doubt Americans will.

Kylie is such a cool pop diva now it's easy to forget what an utter pest she was in the 1980's. Neighbours, those godawful Stock Aitken & Waterman singles - her reinvention has been impressive to be fair.

As for poor old Jason...
