You hate America that much?

The trade deals that Trump will make with the UK will be those that benefit his failing money-losing business interests (as revealed by his exposed tax returns two days ago).  The guy is in desperate financial straits and needs to get re-elected so he can trade American foreign policy for beneficial deals for Trump Enterprises.  (He owns a golf course in Scotland which is losing money like all of his golf courses are.)

The two decades of tax data that The New York Times published have revealed Trump as the fraud that we all knew him to be.  His business interests over the last 20 years have been financial disasters.  What saved him was income from "The Apprentice".  He's a disaster as a businessman and a genius showman (and a horrible human being).  His mask has been removed.

How will the voters respond?

The first presidential debate last night (if you can call that a "debate") was a juvenile shitfest thanks to Trump.  He destroys everything that he touches (including America).

Why are you even responding to his trollish remarks?

That debate was a proper shitshow and the mainstream media is still treating it like both men have merit as leaders. We're going to hand over the whole thing to a shitty Berlusconi and because we're such a global consumer and producer the world will have to play along.

I only saw bits but Biden was very disappointing.

He's no Obama is he ?

They're both bad but Trump is a lot better on his feet. So it just became him making the debate what he wanted it to be. Biden got a few solid moments.

All that said, only 6% of the country is undecided, and it doesn't look like Trump drove more people to his cause.

Obama and Hillary were better academically but all of our presidents have committed atrocities. It's the most interesting listening to Palestinian people talk about it (It doesn't matter if we're killed by Republican bullets or Democrat bullets). Our foreign policy doesn't change much when it comes to the Middle East. Domestically, I will honestly be fine no matter who's president, but so many won't be and it's getting more and more dangerous.

Biden is terrible but I have to go for harm reduction at this point.

He is one of the best presidents America has EVER HAD. believe what you like but I'm Telling you Biden will dump the UK like a sinking rock. People do not like president Trump because he speaks his mind and is not scared on what people think. SOME politicians just ' hide behind the goosebury bush'. Just like President trump has said it is FAKE News!!!! No body believes that tax business - just all FAKE AND LIES.

People are stirring the pot and causing a lot of shit for him so he doesn't get a second term. Well I'm praying he gets through another 4 years.

Even hillary Clinton couldn't beat The great Donald trump. Everybody though Clinton was going to win but look who won!!!

WHEN President Trump wins again, I will so LAUGH IN YOUR FACE but respecting the 2 meters.

President trump has do a lot of great things for America - like building the wall on the Mexico border, I wish the UK will build a wall to keep the immigrants out and away.

Stay safe out their. ????

I felt like I was watching a Real Housewives reunion the way they were going at it. Interestingly my BBC stream glitched out. I switched to a twitter stream but don't remember which network it was. It was then I realised that the BBC had been reducing the sound on 45's mike when he was talking over Biden. The other network just left the audio as is, so you could barely hear Biden. Biden clearly isn't as sharp as Trump and is easily confused but performed better than expected, the less bad choice of two bad choices. I dread to think what's going to happen when either of them lose in November.

It is truly terrifying. Not in the typical way elections are nailbiters. This is the BIG one and I can't trust almost half my country.

As an American....I wish to apologize to everyone here who had to watch that debacle of a debate. Yeah, I'll admit Biden isn't my first choice, but Ill support his experience and better manners over that orange moron.

And for the record.....Trump hurt himself badly according to the latest polls. Several Republican states have gone from safe to toss up for him. A total blowout like the 1984 election seems to be coming for him and the sooner the better.

His strategy relies entirely on his rabid fanbase, which means he can only whittle off support. There's no coalition building or expansion. Follow or die type shit.

The only shot for him now is to break what remains of our system and seize power. He knows he's losing or he'd have no reason to pull all this shit. The real horror is that we HAVE to wait and see what happens in the lameduck session.

Sexylad67 is very young (18) and very stupid.  He can be forgiven.

After last night, everybody is saying now that when one candidate is speaking then the other's mic should be muted.  Approve
(In that case I'm sure that Trump will shout loudly enough.)

The release of Trump's tax records has revealed a lot.  My assessment based on what I read is this.
Trump's "empire" is set to collapse in the next few years as hundreds of millions of dollars in personally guaranteed debt comes due.  (He's not a multi-billionaire?)  To save himself he needs to get re-elected for another four years (at least!) so he can use American foreign policy for quid-pro-quo deals that benefit his businesses.  (He's probably been doing that all along, but so far it's not enough)  This is a man who places his worth on how wealthy he is.  He's fighting for his (financial) life in this election.  And I thought it was just his bloated narcissistic ego.

This is how Hitler and Mussolini came to power.
Trump even has his "brown shirts" intimidating voters in Democrat leaning districts.
And they thought it couldn't happen here.
Our democracy is already half-way gone.  Trump will finish the job in a second term.

Someone on Twitter said to put them in soundproof booths with red lights to let them know they're live. After their time expires, they can talk into the void.

I'm tired of giving anyone a pass because of age. Trump is evil and anyone who supports him is vile.

Do you know what I learnt from working in the tax office?? Just about everyone who is self-employed (so basically has to complete a tax return) manages to accumulate huge losses, so that they can minimise their income tax liabilities.

I once had a customer who had losses that wiped out their entire income (so no tax to pay). Go figure (how can you manage to live on £0??).

This is not new ground, and I don’t even think Trump comes close to recording record losses (even if they’re in the same league as Enron).

This will not change until countries across the world rewrite tax law, so you still have to pay liabilities on profits/income, even against recorded losses. It would also stop the likes of “Amazon/Starbucks made £/$1000bns in profits, and they still don’t pay any tax...” stories.

The point is that Trump boasts being a brilliant entrepreneur worth $9 billion.  (Book: The Art of the Deal)
In truth he has been a disaster as a businessman, having declared bankruptcy I forget how many times.
His huge losses weren't clever accounting.  They were REAL.  And the American taxpayer had to cover those losses with tax credits.
He's an expert scammer and an expert showman.  People believed his story (and still do).
