Coronavirus
I’m so excited: I haven’t seen my parents (I’m close to them) since 2019 and they’ve booked tickets to Australia for Christmas. I’m so damn happy. It makes me grateful to be somewhere which is is fax positive overall. In my view anti- mask or anti- fax is pro lockdown and it’s been exhausting here.

I’ll be seeing my family IN SPITE OF THE BEST EFFORTS of the demented rabble that continues to endanger civilisation.

Did you see your parents over Christmas? Big Grin Giddy

Yesterday I tested positive for Covid.  I'm fine.  Had only mild symptoms.  Now I'm sitting out a 10-day self-isolation (it has its advantages LOL ).
One friend suggested that with this breakthrough infection (and 3x vaxed) I will be "bullet proof" going forward.  I hope so. Big Grin

Getting what he deserves. It's one thing to be a vaccine sceptic, but you can't then expect to travel around the world to play tennis when fully vaccinated people are still living under restrictions. It just makes you look like an entitled prick.

And flying around the world in enclosed airplanes for hours at a stretch.
I wish airlines would require proof of vaccination to board aircraft the same way that restaurants in NYC require it for entry (and some want a matching photo ID too).

Poor NOVAX Djokovic ...... will be interesting if he is removed from Australia.

Djokovic's medical exemption was granted by the Victoria state government which allowed him access to Melbourne Park, where the Australian Open is held. It did not guarantee that Djokovic would be allowed into the country because visas are a policy set by Australia's federal government. A judge will have to determine whether local Victoria policies supersede policies set by Australia's federal government. Tennis Australia, which runs the Australian Open, messed up.

Gets even better.

His 'medical exemption' rests on the fact that he had COVID in mid December (and thus now has immunity) (which is bollox)

But... there's photos all over the web of him at events in the week after the date he said he had COVID... no mask... mingling with everyone.

So either he's lying about being infected mid December.. or he (as we all think) doesn't give a fuck about infecting anyone and everyone around him.

Cnut.

No doubt that he's a prick (and is maybe lying about having had Covid).
But the Victoria state government gives a medical exemption if you've had Covid in the last six months.  Did he provide evidence of Covid to the two medical boards that cleared him?  (I don't know)

So, the latest no.10 shenanigans... LOL

A party in the basement with a guest DJ, one partygoer breaking Johnson son's swing in the back garden, another sent to the local Co-Op with a suitcase to buy more booze. Say what you like about Tories, they know how party...  Rolleyes

Can't help thinking all these revelations sound like the sort of things that go on in a work environment fuelled by a blizzard of cocaine. Silly idea of course, we all know Tories are law abiding citizens...

Does make you wonder what the policeman outside the front door was doing while all these Covid restrictions were being flouted though.

Are we certain it was a real policeman and not a stripper ?

Phone-in on the radio today and a few callers from other countries, all saying what an absolute laughing stock the UK is at the moment.

On this side of the pond:

When the Supreme Court justices took their seats last Friday to hear arguments about President Biden’s vaccine mandate — all but one of the justices there were wearing masks. The exception was Neil Gorsuch.

Gorsuch had to know that his masklessness could make other justices uncomfortable, including the 83-year-old Stephen Breyer and the 67-year-old Sotomayor, who has diabetes, a Covid risk factor. Sotomayor sits next to Gorsuch on the bench and, notably, chose not to attend Friday’s argument in person. She participated remotely, from her chambers.

This is the United States Supreme Court.  Sad

Could Gorsuch be charged with attempting to murder two liberal Supreme Court justices?

Not masking is not a criminal offense, and since they just ruled federal mask mandates are unconstitutional, he hasn't done anything legally wrong.

Honestly, though, we have entirely given up fighting COVID. Biden said there's no federal solution (imagine if FDR had said such a thing) and his press secretary is snarkily shooting down any kind of further federal assistance. The oligarchy will be happy and healthy, and I should get back to work for them and be grateful.

At least the Supremes are allowing the vaccine mandate for health care workers.

Intent is another matter.
(I don't actually believe that Gorsuch intends to murder Breyer and Sotomayor.  That was just a tongue-in-cheek comment.)

I thought you would get a kick out of that.

I think Biden simply understands that as long as the Democrats don't have a larger majority in both houses, which would allow him to add 4 justices to the SCOTUS, he can't do anything. The midterms in November will be the beginning of changes that should have happened long ago.

Research Ties Erectile Issues to Coronavirus.

The coronavirus invades cells in the penis and testicles of monkeys
(You may need to create a free account on The New York Times to read)

The study suggests that symptoms such as erectile dysfunction reported by some Covid patients may be caused directly by the virus.

Well, it's seems that Putins activities had somewhat detracted the world from Covid .....
