There were at least 2 reasons for me not to watch it.

James Cordon - Easily the most overated Brit in America right now

Friends - I have to agree with Piers Morgan, an overated unfunny show

It was super awkward and they all look like awful wax works of themselves but I really enjoyed it.

Friends, even though a bit problematic today was a huge deal when I was growing up and I'm not ashamed to say that I completely loved it. I had the physical box set and used to watch the episodes premiere every Thursday night! I still flick the odd episode on now in the background if there's nothing else on, I've seen them all countless times - it's like a warm blanket!

Cordon is terrible I agree but I'd rather him than some over the top fake American presenter kissing all their asses.

So yeah I enjoyed it, the time and effort that must have gone into recreating the sets was amazing, and I liked the fact they did it on the actual stage they used. The first 15 mins of them walking around just chatting was the best bit really.

Matt Leblanc is a frightening reminder of aging and also Matthew Perry's neck has suffered. Friends is a meh show.

I loved the original series and it's a show that largely improved as the years went by. Much of it became an inside joke, which you had to be in on to appreciate the complexity.

I could have done without the fashion show and the virtue signalling to ethnic minorities and gays, but enjoyed the rest.

I just wish the reunion had aired 12 months ago as it made me want to do a re-watch, wouldn't find the time to invest now life has started again though.

James Cordon is very popular in the US, but, then again, almost any English person with even a small bit of fame has a good chance of being popular in the US. I am not sure this aired in the US yet.

Dear god we agree again.

I always thought Matt LeBlanc aged rather well into a sort of silver fox situation...

James Corden was annoying and the celeb guest stars didn't add anything (except for the actress playing Janice, I love her). I liked the bits where they were just reminiscing. What I also really liked is the love and affection these people still have for each other. So often, there's a lot of bad-mouthing when shows like this end.

The show seemed inescapable when it was airing, and the repeats afterwards were just as bad. Friends was generally awful in the way it dealt with LGBT people, I found Frasier better in that regard, as well as as being funnier/better written.

I remember at the time, they negotiated salaries as a collective, rather than individually and being played off against each other. No-one believed they were more valuable than the other and there was no show if they all were canned for demanding too much from the network.

I imagine that helped to avoid a situation like Kim Katrall and Sarah Jessica Parker. Samantha was the star of the show, but Carrie was paid the big bucks and hated each other as a result. I think the same was true on Desperate Housewives they all hated Teri Hatcher who was paid the most.
