You need to remove the hyperlink by clicking on it then the unlink button.
As shown in the FAQ

How do you download and save a photo that was posted from Instagram? It's different than a regular jpg.
On the old forum someone explained it once, but when I go there I can't find it.
Thanks.

If you want to harvest pics from Insta, it’s usually possible with a web browser and a PC (not very iPad-friendly, I know). As far as posting Insta Images direct goes, the first link above
should work as cited.
You need the Insta tags (obviously), the /p/ bit in the middle, but not the unique ID after the last trailing slash. And no spaces before/after the tags.
So...
Quote:
How do I post this?
https://www.instagram.com/p/B-5FgBuBNBI/
with an [insta] tag either side, will give...
[insta]https://www.instagram.com/p/B-5FgBuBNBI/[/insta]

There used to be Chrome extensions that would grab the instagram pics. Haven't used one for a while but assume there still are.
No idea how you'd do it on a phone/tablet

I see a share button and can copy a link. It was what to do at this end that was my issue.

My question was, once someone has posted a photo from Instagram on here how do I download it from here to my PC hard drive? It's not a simple case of a right-click as with a jpg that has been posted.
Thanks.

It's a fiddle but I have used the Windows snipping tool. (Is it now called Snip & Sketch?)
On my phone I take a screenshot.

Some context was missing. I have offered my poor solution to Parsifal.

Thank you. I'll have to wait until someone posts a pic from Instagram that I want to download to give it a test.
I've already forgotten which one I wanted to download from here.

(Or ... I'll just test it on one that I don't want and then delete it.

)
Thanks for your help.
