That is useful, thanks. But no way to have a button to mark all the forums read at the same time, instead of having to do it individually?

It's slightly hidden away at the bottom of the page in this grey bar, click "Mark all Forums Read":

Can the timings be changed to 24hr clock and also do away with the 'hours ago' timestamp and replace that with a 24hr clock timing too?

Time format can be changed in your User CP by selecting Edit Options. I'm not sure about the second bit, think that would require a forum-wide change and I'm not sure it's possible.

2nd bit would require a mod. I'll look into it for the first set of tweaks I do.

I too would love to see the "hours ago" replaced with a 24hr clock timing.

That's assuming that "most liked" is universal for all.

I don’t follow? I meant the ability to sort the thread in descending order of posts that have the most ‘like’ clicks.

Oh I see.  You mean to just do it for yourself.  Got it.
I was referring to the fact that the threads that you like the most (or that everybody else likes the most) may not be the ones that I like the most (usually not).  But that's a moot issue if you just want to sort it for yourself.  I misunderstood

It would also be great if when you click on a thread, it brought you to the first unread post, rather than back to post 1 every time.
