Stayed there on honeymoon a few years ago. The Disney cruise stopping on the river, with Lexus dealers across the road and the couple of food "classy" food markets around didn't seem gentrified at all...nope...

No, not by a long shot. The old and small apartments in tenement buildings are no match for spacious UWS and UES apartments. The West Village gentrified with similar sized buildings, the difference being that the buildings in the WV are (or once were) spacious one-family homes while those in HK never were; they were always low-income tenements. HK has a lot of very good restaurants though, just a couple of blocks from the theater district.

Hm. I've always loved the look of that area. Wonder if I could get a job in one of those restaurants and afford to live local.

I always like going there.

A good chance I would say.

Even in HK you might need a roommate to afford the rent if living on a restaurant job's salary.
In my opinion you don't think high enough. You're smart and you're educated. You just don't know how to market yourself.
In NYC, restaurant jobs are for out-of-work actors (an occupation said to have an 80% unemployment rate). If you're going to look to that segment you might be better off singing in a club than working in a kitchen (once the pandemic is over). You can add to your income, perhaps, with a (low-paid) church chorus soloist job.

Singing...is more viable...than kitchen work?!
And technically, I am also an unemployed actor.

Kitchen work is the easier of the two to get.
But that's not YOU. Singing is. As for "paying the rent" you can do better than doing the kitchen job. Aim high and see where it takes you.

On Topic please
This is the Attitude/Gay Times thread.
You're mistaking it for the Genreal Chitchat thread.
(there isn't one)

Think he’d better leave right now.
Actually, in fairness to Will, I think he’s a nice bloke. Would be good to have as a mate. Or something.

With GayTimes, the last issue that I bought was a naked one, 2014 naked issue, it had Louis Smith in it.
Does Attitude or GayTimes still do a naked issue? I do a look out now and then - when I remember too.
Attitude and GayTimes was like FHM. There wasn't a gay Nuts or Zoo magazine version.

I don't think they do a naked issue these days.
Maybe Will Young won't get his kit off anymore

Shame that there isn't a naked issues no more. That would be a reason for me to buy the magazines. Unless there is something that I want to read in the magazine, like Prince William being interviewed.

Maybe a z-list olympian showing a hint of buttock doesn't cut it in an age where they're all over tik-tok frantically wanking their sweaty meatpoles

Yeah, Attitude and Gay Times had guys that I would probably have to Google to find out who they were.
But I guess with some of the guys who would be in the magazines can be Googled and found
