Apparently the 70% score is an aggregation from two different trials - one at 62% and one at 90%. The difference between the two was the dosage given. Oddly, the 90% trial was based on a lower dosage.

And get this - the UK government already has 4 million of the vaccine with a further 16m due by the end of year plus a further 80m due by end of March.

So, hopefully next spring and summer will be a bit more like normal

The known side effects I have heard are minor. In the 2 stage vaccine, for example, you'll probably get a small fever and feel bad for maybe 2 days after the first and then feel bad for about a day after the 2nd one you get 28 days later.

On the upside, being done faster didn't mean, in this case, it was done improperly.  Also, at least one of the vaccines used about 32,000 people in the human trials, which is a lot more than they usually do for a vaccine that is done over 2 or 3 years. You might not actually be "toward the end of the list" because they still don't know how long, if at all really, that you're protected from being reinfected.
