Also they beat it?

Didn’t see any of it but wanted Angela Bassett to win whatever category she was nominated in, but think it was Jamie Lee Curtis that won.

Angela needs to work on her gracious loser acting though.
JLC got a standing ovation, Angela notably remained seated with a face like thunder and didn't clap at the announcement, or when JLC finished her speech.

Nope.
In general, your performance was good enough to get to the final nominees. Take that as a good point.
Don't make about you cause you lost.

How political are the Oscars? (I don't know)
Is Angela a sore loser or does she know something about behind the scenes?

Depends on who is up and speaks. Has been political a few times.
With Angela, I think that she might be upset due her performance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

I was hoping The Banshees of Inesherin would win, but I think it lost out in every category it was nominated in.
As for Angela Bassett, I'm all for people giving an honest reaction rather than all that gushing fakery. I still remember Samuel L Jackson's legendary strop when he lost out for Pulp Fiction,

Gracious losers are an abomination. Not asking those who lose to someone to kill the winner but not grinning and clapping like an idiot would do nicely.

and look at cate blanchett, she clapped and immediately ready to stand up and cheer on michelle. i am sure she was disappointed too, regardless of how many oscars she already has, more is always better, but she acted gracefully
some might voted for JLC because of her parents. who knows.

Watched Everything Everywhere all at once this evening. Totally nuts. Kept looking to see how much longer before the end. Had little idea what was going on and cared even less. How it win an Oscar is beyond me.
Saw The Banshees if Inshereen a few nights ago too. Was enjoyable enough though the story was a bit odd. Colin Farrell looked very handsome in it ❤️

I’ve not seen that ‘Everything Everywhere’ yet, is it worth it? Love Michelle Yeoh though.
