In relation to a comment in another thread, when a footballer goes from one team to another - is that a waste?
Take Billy Gilmour, he's has gone to Chelsea, then to Norwich City as a loan, then onto Brighton & Hove Albion. Would Billy going to Brighton & Hove Albion be a waste?
Would it be depending on which team? Depending on the player? If the player is shit, is it a good riddens than a waste?

Nah Hugh, Scottish football is just a joke, don't take it so personally, But hey at least they've fit players to make up for it.

If we're talking about Todd Cantwell, I think Rangers is a good move for him. He barely played when Norwich were in the Premier League last season, but he's pretty much guaranteed European football in Scotland - makes perfect sense to me.
As for Billy G, I really thought he'd become a big player for us (Chelsea), but he never built on that one amazing performance against Liverpool in the FA Cup. There's still plenty of time for him, but he's not getting regular games at Brighton and I could see him moving on from there in the summer.

I used Billy G as an example, and I'm insure if Brighton is a good team, how much of a step down. If it's a step down.
Todd Cantwell - Yes and no. Yes, in that if he's going to get more by playing for Rangers than playing at Norwich FC.
No - In general, every other player too. Players have a top limit, and a player like Todd.
I'm wondering if Todd and any other player is going to excel at more at 1 club, like Rangers than Norwich or any other team.

Since when was Rangers a number 1 club Surely you can't compare Scottish football to English football ?
neither rangers or Celtic could hack it in the prem, they are championship teams at best, they are just fortunate that the Scottish prem gives them a chance to get into Europe

I'm deeply sorry RyCamp88, I wasn't referring to Ranger being "a number 1 club". I didn't mean 1 club in that way. I should have wrote out 'one' instead of putting the number '1'
I do realise that I've made a mistake or two.
Instead of "I'm wondering if Todd and any other player is going to excel at more at 1 club". I should have put
"I'm wondering if Todd and any other player is going to excel more at ONE club"
Removed the 'AT' between the excel and more. And wrote one instead of the number 1. Meant it as as one club or another.
Also sorry, I wasn't comparing Scottish football to English football. I'm not comparing any countries football league to another. And I'm not trying to.
All I'm doing is asking that if a footballer transfers from one club to another, weather it would be a good or a bad thing for the player. Weather the clubs are Man U to Everton, or from England to Fance

In terms of Cantwell it’s a bad move, he’s moved from a championship level club to another championship level club, he may get some European football but odds of winning anything European is low. He’s a 50/50 chance of winning Scottish trophies as let’s face it there’s only two real teams fighting for them. A move fro. Manchester United to Everton would be considered bad too given the state Everton are in at the minute.
