Racist speech is unacceptable. Homophobic, sexist, ableist?
The punishment, if they are a celebrity, projects get dropped. Agents might walk away from them.

Too many people, especially in a nation like the US, are scared to try to stop bigoted speech because they are afraid of the "other side" retaliating someday. That's why we get the "Who gets to decide?" type remarks.
