Anyone complaining about being cancelled are people who want to say whatever they want, without getting punished for it.

Who defines what speech is unacceptable? Who defines what "punishment" is appropriate for saying something that others don't like?

Racist speech is unacceptable. Homophobic, sexist, ableist?

The punishment, if they are a celebrity, projects get dropped. Agents might walk away from them.

There is no need to "define" it.  We all know within us what is unacceptable.  No need to do a mind fuck about it.

Too many people, especially in a nation like the US, are scared to try to stop bigoted speech because they are afraid of the "other side" retaliating someday. That's why we get the "Who gets to decide?" type remarks.
