The good news is that, after public pressure and backlash, the Spanish airline chartered to take the refugees to Rwanda has pulled out of the deal.. leaving them with no airline to do the job.

It was one of the last few European airline charters willing to do the job. Almost all others want no part of it.

Any other country would use the air force. But in good old 'sell everything off' UK stylee.. the RAF's transport planes capable of moving people are actually owned by a private company and leased back to the RAF. And that company has refused to ship the refugees to Rwanda too.

It was obviously a deal to get her to back him in the vote, but its seriously biting him on the arse at the moment.

So now it turns out that Rishi's father-in-law was the founder of Infosys in India, one of the world's biggest outsourcing firms.  The company's outsourcing history of helping companies replace their workers with thousands of Indian immigrants or move their positions to Infosys's complex in India does not fit neatly with the Tory's stance on limiting immigration to protect jobs, notwithstanding that Rishi campaigned for greater immigration controls to preserve jobs for Britons.  Infosys is also a British government contractor.  His wife has an $800 million stake in the company, their biggest source of wealth.  BTW, this was all going on while Rishi was an MP and also when he became chancellor of the Exchequer.

Is this going to get interesting or is this just business as usual?

(All of the above applies to the U.S. as well.  In fact, during Trump's 4-year presidency his family continued with his businesses, funneling those wishing to do business with the federal government into his hotels, all in violation of the Constitution.  Nothing was done about it.)
