Think they're referred to as 'jorts' (as in jeans shorts).

You can roll them up higher depending how daring you are with how much leg you want to show...

They certainly haven't been a thing for a long time round these parts. Maybe on middle-aged 'older' blokes but certainly not on 'da kidz'. Its all been sportswear and sweat shorts.
Now they've all embraced denim.

Not noticed denim shorts on youngsters tbh. They all seem to dress like muggers. Even in the hot spell we had a couple of weeks ago, I saw a young lad in a fetching olive green two piece track suit with the hood up and his mouth covered. Must have been boiling! I remember thinking that if he was trying not to look dodgy, he was failing big time.

can confirm as somebody who works in a sports bar, denim shorts are very much a thing now with the young lads and it seems they can't get them short enough, horrible looking things, can't go wrong with a pair of gaa shorts or sweat shorts.

GAA shorts...thighs...yum.

Don't think they work in social situations though. Remember someone (not me) wearing them into work a few years ago and multiple people (again, not me) going to HR cos the view was WAY too obvious.

They are very like the short football shorts from back in the day, they are fantastic for showing of thighs and arse. They are basically cat nip for gay men in Ireland.

I THINK they're just shorter, more the length of a pair of boxers, but not sure of the formality. Despite living opposite a GAA club, have never played it so no idea what the actual difference is

They were a "thing" over the last few years with Paul Mescal wearing them and showing off the thighs and they were discussed at this page and the like.

Personally I've always tucked in my t-shirt, mainly because I don't like the feeling of the waistband of my jeans against my tummy. But I'm not interested in fashion!

Untucked is definitely what I thought was the standard for guys - revealing abs and tummy button if you reach up for something or do that guy thing of scratching your chest by putting your hand up inside your t-shirt.

Thigh length - so like rugby shorts, unlike knee length which unfortunately appears to be the trend for footballers...
