Covid Vaccine
Would you let them 'jab' you?
#1
Today's take with a pinch of salt news suggests that according to leaked super top secret NHS documents, vaccination centers are being set up to start rolling out the Oxford Vaccine in December. It will consist of two inoculations, 28 days apart. It will be first rolled out those who are immunosuppressed, then over 80's, NHS staff, The Army, over 65's etc.

As someone who has a compromised immune system, I'd likely be one of the first. It would be a massive relief and give me my life back. That said, I'm cautious. Do I really want to go first? If it's passed trials, surely it's safe? Then again, we're under the care of Westminster's gang of fools.

Thoughts?

As Kamala Harris said in tonight's vice presidential debate with Mike Pence:
"If Dr. Fauci says take it then I'll be the first in line."
"If Donald Trump says take it then NO."

How reliable is Westminster's gang of fools?  Do they have an ulterior motive for pushing it (as Trump does) or can they be relied on to act in the public's best interest (assuming they're competent)?

Where did you hear this ?

As far as I'm aware, there is no proven vaccine (we'd ALL know about it if there was) and they won't mass immunise with an unproven vaccine.

It's in quite a few of the rags. As I say, take with a pinch of salt...

A bag of salt I'd say.

The Mail has been saying there'll be a vaccine 'next week' every week since April

The Express says Diana is still alive and is living with Elvis making the vaccine on a camping stove (and its all the EUs fault)

They can't even sort out Flu vaccinations, which they do every year. They've run out. Like they did last year. And the year before.

There is absolutely zero chance of a vaccine being available before Xmas. Zero.
And I probably mean NEXT xmas.

And if one is approved how effective will it be?
Last year's flu vaccine (in the U.S.) had a 30% effective rate.  (That means that it protected 30% of the population that got the flu shot.  The other 70% might as well have received a placebo.)
A few years ago I was taking a medication and I told my dermatologist that it wasn't working for me.  He said that it was approved but only has an 8% effective rate.

So if a vaccine passes all the trials and gets approved, don't assume that you're safe if you get it.  You'll want to know the effective rate first (if they tell it to you).
