I know its a good source of diving and gymnastic totty for a couple of weeks.. but as an actual 'Games'... it's a bit naff isn't it ?
Poundshop Olympics ?
Was reading today that they're struggling to get cities to want to host it now. Only UK and Aussie cities seem to be interested.

Indeed. Jamaica hosted in 1966, but wouldn’t now (too anti-gay). Can’t really see another African or Caribbean country coming forward). Not India/Pakistan.
That just leaves UK/AUS/Can, NZ, or maybe one of the Channel Islands…
The 1984 Olympics was supposed to be similar because a lot of African/East European countries boycotted that.

It is rather tedious to watch. Hardly competitive in a lot of ways either.
The only saving grace is the totty.
The tedium is Not helped by the commentary team. Listening to Steve Cram talk about a hotel he and Paula Radcliffe stayed in 5 years ago during the marathon yesterday doesn’t exactly make for landmark television.
I appreciate its UK based and the BBC are going to milk it for all it’s worth but sometimes less is more.

I watched a bit of the gymnastics on Friday and Matt Baker was really getting on my tits.
If it wasn't, everytime 'Team England' were shown "COMEON ENGLAND !!!!!!", then he was moaning that because they were taking the world feed they couldn't show more of TEAM ENGLAND.
"England win Gold"
"England win Gold"
"England win Gold"
"England win Gold"
Its like the Scooby-Doo Brexit Olympics.
"We'd win all the medals if it wasn't for those pesky foreigners"

They've moved on to women winning the Euros now.

One of my neighbours at dinner (in the hotel) said to her son, they’d might be going on about the Lionesses today, but they’ll be forgotten about come Friday.
What with the Premiership/Championship/Champions League kicking off again…

I enjoyed the Commonwealth Games. Plenty of male totty on view as others have said - swimmers, divers, gymnasts, runners in short shorts, etc
However it is a bit like the poor man's Olympics and allows the Brits (the English especially) to brag about winning lots of medals which we probably wouldn't win if it was a truly international competition

For the athletes, it can be a good place to learn how to deal with multiple rounds etc so countries like to take younger people for the experience. For some sports, the Commonwealth Games provides a rare opportunity to be featured on TV and possibly attract new people. However, it rarely attracts a fully world class field so many events can be disappointing viewing. Even when the top competitors are amongst the World's best, they often don't prioritise this Championship.
