I suppose it's more understandable with the SNP where the goal of independence might be considered worth the price of admission, but when I look at the Labour party, I really struggle to work out how some of their MPs ended up in a left wing party. Particularly when they just want to move it to the centre/right. They could have just joined the Lib Dems

Didn't have to "twist" anything - just pointed out the facts. The trans rapist's place of incarceration had nothing to do with a law that's never been in effect, nor was it a decision made by Sturgeon personally. There's a prison service who make that decision, and a Justice Secretary who oversees it.

Sturgeon has appeared in TV news stories here on this side of the pond since well before Brexit. Scottish nationalist party wins big in elections -> pundits talk about what might that mean for Scottish independence. It’s kinda obvious. The same line of talk was followed with the Brexit result: Scotland voting to remain when non-urban England voted for Brexit. Then again with Nicola Sturgeon’s announcements regarding Covid contrasting with Boris Johnson’s.

If you have an evidence-based argument, make it. Trying to create a tenuous link between Sturgeon and an unsubstantiated, disproven smear doesn't count.

I resigned my membership following the treatment of Joanna Cherry . The whole self ID debacle has been a mess of Sturgeons own making and she only has herself to blame, in terms of the current leadership I hope Ash wins but I see either Kate or Humza getting in. The party needs to spend some time in opposition and the current implosion is the best thing for it.

Humza Yousaf has won the election to become the SNP's next leader, but by only a slim majority of 52% (on second preferences). I guess the SNP is not nearly as progressive as it makes itself out to be if Scotland was only 200+ votes away from getting the candidate whose social positions are further to the right than the Tories.

Does anyone else find it tiring that our parliamentarians don’t seem to understand we elect a party not a prime minister, so why were the SNP saying Rishi doesn’t have a mandate since taking over. Surely they are now in the same situation?
