It might be on purpose but is there a reason why only some posts can be liked?

The Adam Peaty thread for instance. I can like the first post but the like icon isn't available for the second.

It's the same in quite a few others.

Definitely need an option to delete your post. I have duplicated a picture of The Yorkshire God but I cannot remove.
I posted a picture of Smithy and it says it was an hour ago, when it was only a few minutes ago, so the most recent doesn't then appear at the top? All teething problems though.

RE: The Bug Tracker thread - the_scouser - 07-08-2020

Shouldn't there be an option to disable your private messenger should you desire to? Can't see anything under edit your profile which would enable me to do this

Ignore this.......I have found it now, under "Edit Options"

At the moment, in the View forums its set that only the original post can be liked.. not the replies. We may review this.

We don't allow members to delete posts. Only mods. Twas the same on the old board.

If only the original post can be liked, does that mean you would prefer people make a new topic each time they have a picture to add, instead of adding to a thread? This is your devilish plan, you hope that people are so thirsty for for likes they will comply. Cunning, if so.

Out of curiosity, is there max amount of image urls which can be copied in to an individual post?

Yes there is though we've not tested it. Since the entire forum is basically one huge database, at some point you will simply reach the maximum number of characters in a post. Long before that though, the post becomes unwieldy and slow to load, so I don't recommended trying it out.

That was the idea, as the rules still say, as they have always said, new pics - new topic. We may review this though as it seems you lot are really not up for it LOL

RE: The Bug Tracker thread - conorH_90 - 09-08-2020

Is there a problem with YouTube videos embedding on here, I've followed the advice, from the support forum, but am only able to show a link to YouTube, not the actual video.

Edit:
Solved it, I really should have the patience to read all the advice before having a hissy fit Huh

It may be just me but when I am wanting to quote, I always seem to choose the wrong post (normally the one directly below), it's to do with the soft gray boxes. Anyway that the like/reply/quote/report box could be differentiated from the rest? I'm not making sense I know but maybe someone else will say, I know what he means!

I know what you mean!  Just takes some getting used to Smile

RE: The Bug Tracker thread - danyall - 11-08-2020

Is it necessary to have everyone's date of birth displayed on their profile?
After checking age during registration, surely this could then be something that is optional to display.

It is... Go into UserCP and Edit Profile and there's a drop down for whether to show your DOB, just age, or hide it all.

Thank you. Managed to quote you correctly.

Thanks, 9in.  As so often is the case, the bug was in me, not the system.

RE: The Bug Tracker thread - jdcyl - 14-08-2020

I noticed a few days ago that the Max Whitlock thread is slow to load, probably because it has many more pics and gifs than other View threads.

I do agree with the feeling that totty appreciation is greatly enhanced when photos are compiled under one thread (as opposed to always having a new thread for each new set of pics), but maybe publicize guidelines on workable limits for pics per thread?

By the way, it seems to me that this new board hit slow loading with the Max Whitlock thread a lot sooner than the old board with much bigger threads. Isn’t this new software supposed to be more efficient, or is the problem with the image hosts that happened to be used for the Whitlock thread?

(Ah, I see all the Whitlock photos are on the same page, as opposed to being spread out over different pages.)

RE: The Bug Tracker thread - ladsnet - 15-08-2020

Hopefully it will die down a bit soon when the old board disappears and the reposting slows down.

I've had a look and the slow loading is due to the images loading from the image host. Not the board.

There are ways to limit the number of pictures in a topic. We're not implementing them at the moment, but if it gets silly we might have to.

RE: The Bug Tracker thread - jjones - 16-08-2020

I'm having problems with what seems to be the Board software misinterpreting photo links. I create a new post with several image links, but when I preview the post several images show up as not available. When I right click on the image placeholder the file has a .png suffix, not the correct .jpg suffix that appears in Code mode.

RE: The Bug Tracker thread - ladsnet - 16-08-2020

You need to have a .jpg or a .png in the URL between the IMG tags.
I know a lot of the image hosts just display an images URL as (eg) imagewank.com/jhakskhnakdn
That won't work in here. It needs to be imagewank.com/jhakskhnakdn.jpg or imagewank.com/jhakskhnakdn.png

RE: The Bug Tracker thread - Modesty - 16-08-2020

Instagram posts where users use the Insta tags are not showing up for me at all.
Just a big blank post

I have whitelisted the site and turned of Facebook containter here.

When I quote the post, the quote is blank too, not even the tagged link is showing.
