How much do you think postmen should be paid?
My brother is a Royal Mail worker, sorry your package didn’t come but everybody has the right to fair pay. Early mornings and long days and out in all sorts of weather while on their feet, so to answer yes they deserve it. Plus it’s a busy time of year for delivery companies. Must just be an English thing coz over here in the north it doesn’t seem to be an issue.

I actually don't care what they get paid, the question was rhetorical.  I care whether I get my deliveries.  The problems at RM stem back to the Tories privatising it and now the shareholders take priority.
Exactly.
I support the posties strike for better pay.
This doesn't disguise the fact that Royal Mail is, and has been for years, a disorganised farce of a company.

With their size and the resources they have, they should be able to provide a parcel delivery service to rival amazons in-house operation. However they are consistently shit.
Tracking rarely works. Nothing is delivered in the timescale promised. Collections/deliveries missed and then excused by lies. < all before the strikes started.

At least the shareholders are happy though.
An excellent article by one of the local journalists explaining what the strikes are about. Needless to say, it's nothing to do with refusing workers £30k/year and 40 days sick leave.

Exactly - the people striking (and who you do take repeated pot-shots at in your post) aren't the ones who've caused the main problems you highlight but ARE the ones who are expected to deal with the consequences, fix the cock-ups, go the extra mile and deal with the angry customers.

Ok drama queen- firstly you’ve not actually “lost” any money, secondly there’s still 6 delivery days left before Christmas. Even if you need to ship on to someone else then you’ve got until Thursday to reship to anywhere in Europe - what exactly /can’t/ you do right now and how does ranting about the strikers help resolve the issue or do anything to address the underlying problem?

Not wishing to get involved in the ranty madness, but be interested in how much it costs in chabang shipping .com to ship something to Europe on Thursday and it get there by Christmas.
Various sites will confirm UPS still offering christmas delivery if in their system by 22nd
UPS uk to northern Italy, 15kg (in fact anything up to 24kg) £28ish, depending on your account discount levels. Obviously that is literally the latest you could send, brexit paperwork fuckery could delay things and should ship sooner if possible but the point stands that there are services and they aren't especially expensive when you remember that RM will charge you £20 to move the same parcel around the UK.
I know others are pissed at the chaos, but I'm loving it. Five parcels of mine have been 'lost' by Royal Mail. Four have been refunded, one a replacement. Yesterday, four of them arrived at once. Being the honest person I am, I contacted the merchants and they all instructed me I could keep them.

Happy Jesusmas to me!
